Silver Stirrup Stables offers basic horsemanship lessons to children over seven years of age as well as adults. We offer only private lessons.  Each student progresses at his/her own rate. Our training program fulfills the Physical Education requirement for homeschooled children. Lessons are taught year-round and a climate controlled viewing room is available for your comfort. Training encompasses horse care, grooming, feeding, and riding. Lessons emphasize safety first and include a balanced seat, direct reining, good horsemanship and horse keeping.

The North American Horseman's Association (NAHA) has repeatedly awarded acommendations to Silver Stirrup Stables for an outstanding safety record and safety management in our horse operation. NAHA recognize the contributions made by Silver Stirrup Stables to the betterment of the National Standards for Safety within the horse industry.

As a community service and to advance public knowledge and the love of horses, these lessons are offered at a nominal fee per session. Please telephone us at 256-776-9401 for rates.

A portion of all lesson fees is donated to charity. Lessons are thirty minutes to an hour. Gift certificates (available upon request) are great gifts for holidays, birthdays, or just to say you care.
